What’s In A Chain?

When I first started designing the Circles Of Inspiration charms, I was presented with many options for how to hang the charm in the most elegant and eye-catching way. Now days there are more chain and cord options on the jeweler’s market than ever before, so I got to spend many hours sifting through options to find just the right solution… but in the end I chose sterling silver chains to compliment all of the various charm designs. Aside the beauty, strength, longevity, easy use, and classic appeal of sterling silver link chains, there was another important reason that I chose them.

Chains have a deep and powerful symbolism that really compliments the overall theme and energy of the Circles of Inspiration charms. Chains are made by linking circles together over and over again. Just like fabric, the sterling silver chains I use for my charms are woven to create a tapestry of shine and strength for each person that wears them. As I held the chains in my hand, I knew that they would be perfect for what my line represents.

Each link in a chain is an individual circle that links to all of the other circles to create one continuous circle. These links are like each of us – individual, independent (or so we like to think!), and unique. Like the link on a chain, we are all connected in ways that allow us tp become stronger, brighter, and more powerful in every way. When we honor our individuality and work with our unity, we make miracles happen!

Throughout history, the process of weaving, linking, and sewing have had spiritual significance to people all across the globe. Taking individual pieces and linking them together to create a new whole has a magic all its own, and there’s no wonder why everything from chain maille to knitting  have occupied special roles in our ancient cultures.
