Radical Authenticity

Radical Authenticity

This week is all about radical authenticity… and no, that’s not the name of the newest rock band!

Radical authenticity is the process of embracing your true personal nature and ‘owning it’ regardless of what society thinks you should do. If you are an artist at your core – radical authenticity says ‘ignore the nay-sayers and create!’. If you sing, dance, read, study, or whatever else – radical authenticity gives you the permission to be who you are meant to be without taking other people’s paradigm into consideration.

This does not mean that we can do anything we want or act any way we want. Sometimes it’s a good thing to have a filter! It does mean, however, that we are here to learn about ourselves and to find out who we are at the very core of our being.

Throughout life we have an entire world telling us how we should look, act, dress, work, think, and believe. In a world like this, how many of us know how we simply are at our core? The world loves to tell us how to be – but how are we when we are left to be the way we were made?

This week I challenge you to listen to your thoughts and feelings and learn more about the true, authentic you. See what you do that’s in line with your truth and see what you do that’s in line with other people’s truth. Once you know more about what’s really you – start living from that place a lot more each day!

Radical authenticity requires us to step out of the comfort zone we’ve become accustomed to and create a new reality based on the special and unique individuals we are. Take the first step!
