Have you ever had one of those moments in life where you were absolutely convinced that you couldn’t make it through? Issues with health, work, relationships, spirituality, or direction can sometimes be so intense and seem so big that we literally convince ourselves that we won’t come out the other side sane, alive, or in one piece. In the moment, these situations seem as real and threatening as anything… but when they pass we forget the sting of the moment and move on.
Recently, I spent some time remembering and meditating on some of these moments in my own life and realized something – no matter how bad it’s ever been for me, I’m still standing. I am still here, still me, and still on the same beautiful spiritual journey I started when I took my first breath in this life. The most horrible, terrifying, and confusing moments in my life have not been enough to destroy me. They may have left scars ans even changed the way I react or think about things, but they didn’t stop me!
I believe that life never gives us more than we can handle. We may be taken up to the very edge but we will not be pushed over it. The nature of life is the preservation of life – as long as we go into it with an open mind and sound heart.
The next time something challenging or even horrible happens to you – try to keep in the back of your mind that you will in fact be okay. All will be well, the dust will settle, and you can absolutely trust yourself to get through this! On the other end you will be wiser, stronger, more experienced, and better equipped to handle what may come in the future and to help others out when they go through the same kind of situation.
It’s all training to help us become more and to learn more about just how amazing we really are!
